Marek Grela – a caricaturist, a member of The Association of Polish Cartoonists, an artist far from the ordinary who concentrates not only on the famous and popular, but also on those whom we want to see solely in the false mirror.

As he himself emphasizes, he has been creating caricatures since he remembers, presenting people with laughter and happiness by means of his works. He took the first steps in the 90s and continued to pursue his hobby in the art class of Stanisław Wyspiański Secondary School. Yet, his linguistic interests have made him enter the Faculty of Philology at the University of Silesia. Though the subject of his studies might seem very distant from the world of stars ,he was able to find the connection. He devoted his master thesis to Polish pop singers Doda and Justyna Steczkowska, the stars featured on his cartoons.

He made his debut in 1999 when, barely 13 years old, he accomplished his first success winning the First Prize during a plastic art contest at SDK Tęcza in Tychy. Subsequent successes followed easily. For two consecutive years (2007, 2008) he was the official cartoonist of Freaks Ceremony broadcasted by Polish TV. He has "aimed" with his pastel at Szymon Majewski, Michał Koterski and many other TV pop stars. His interests though, do not focus exclusively on the world of POP.

The spectrum of people portrayed in Marek Grela's false mirror is indeed overwhelmingly diverse: Nobel Prize-winner Wisława Szymborska, painter Hanna Bakuła, priest Leon Knabit, composer Jerzy Kilar, famous jazz diva Urszula Dudziak, politicians Mr Kaczyński and his wife, film director Kazimierz Kutz, mime artist Ireneusz Krosny, writers, actors, singers, satirists, cabaret artists, journalists and other celebrities. Among the people who have already seen their image in Marek Grela's false mirror one can find: Hanna Bakuła, Father Leon Knabit, Jerzy Urban, Bogusław Linda or Wisława Szymborska. His works found their places at homes of: Jan Nowicki, Ewelina Flinta, Urszula Dudziak, Justyna Steczkowska and many others polish stars. His exhibitions include the exhibition during the First Absurdalia Festival (2007), a vernissage at Na Bruku Gallery (2008),The Museum of Caricature (2008), Zacisze Culture Centre (2008).He lives and works in Tychy.
